What is meant by OLED display?

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display is a type of display technology commonly used in modern electronic devices, such as smartphones, TVs, and smartwatches. OLED displays are made up of organic materials that emit light when an electric current is passed through them.

Unlike traditional LCD displays, which require a backlight to illuminate the screen, each pixel on an OLED display emits its own light, which allows for greater control over brightness and contrast. This results in deeper blacks and brighter colors, and also helps to reduce power consumption, as pixels can be turned off entirely when displaying black content.

OLED displays also offer faster response times and wider viewing angles than traditional LCD displays, which makes them well-suited for fast-moving content like video and gaming. In addition, OLED displays are thinner and lighter than LCD displays, which makes them a popular choice for portable devices.

Overall, OLED displays offer several advantages over traditional LCD displays, including better contrast, color, and power efficiency. However, they can be more expensive to manufacture and may be more susceptible to burn-in or image retention if static images are displayed for long periods of time.
